Welcome to the Safeguarding Board for Northern Ireland
The Safeguarding Board for Northern Ireland ensures that there are no barriers to protecting children and young people up to the age of 18 in Northern Ireland.
What we do
Educate
- Make sure that everyone understands how important it is to keep children and young people safe
- Make sure that all the organisations involved are doing the best job possible
Advise
- Report to the Department of Health about what the organisations are doing
- Give advice to organisations about best practice
Engage
- Listen to the views of children and young people about the issues that matter to them
- Educate organisations through a programme of training events and consultations
